Dog lover. Nashville transplant.

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan Nagle, the owner of Bark and Brindle Pet Portraits (and also Heck Designs and Photography). You are here because you are just like me; you love your pets like they are your children. Let’s be honest, they basically are.

I have two pups of my own, so I know what it is like to be a dog mom. You don’t trust just anyone with your pets, which is why I want you to get to know me.

Like I said, I have two dogs: Brutus and Leonard. I rescued Brutus while I was in college. I was 19, living 500 miles from home, and I will be honest, I was having a rough time. Brutus turned my life around and has helped me through so much since then. He is a mess of a mutt (his DNA test came back with 7 breeds), but he is the sweetest mess.

My husband, Matt, and I rescued Leonard in 2017. Since I was about 10 years old, I have been obsessed with Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens (or PBGVs). Well, one night, I was scrolling through rescue websites, and found our local pound (shout out to Lucas County Canine Care and Control) had a PBGV. I woke Matt up and told him that we had to be down there when they opened to get Leonard. Well, long story short, we ended up with this sassy ball of energy.

I am a Michigan native, but now live in Nashville, Tennessee with my husband, Matt, and our two crazy dogs.

So why am I so passionate about photographing our best friends? Well, I feel like a lot of times, pets are left out of family portraits even though they are such a big part of our families! These beautiful memories with our pets should be remembered too! We have so many photos of them on our phones, but not enough of them surrounding us in our lives. I think it is time to change that!
